The DiluCell™ has been especially designed for the spectrophotometrical analysis of protein samples and microbial cell cultures.
The automatic dilution of the sample combined with the low sample volume required make the cell indispensable in every modern laboratory. | Virtual dilution ensures GLP conditions - How does DiluCell™ work? |
| Spectrophotometrical samples with scattering elements e.g. unsolved particles from a staining solution like “Bradford” or microbial cells can not be analyzed in a submicroliter approach. Only with the use of standard cuvettes (plastic or quartz cells) can an adequate average through the sample be obtained to calculate reliable results. Previously it was necessary to use standard cuvettes with a volume of at least 1 ml and additionally to dilute the sample manually. |

| With the availability of the new DiluCell™ from Implen the scientist can overcome these limitations. Due to the unique design of the DiluCell™ the lightpath will be reduced from 10 mm (standard cuvette) to 0.5 mm (DC 20) or 1.0 mm (DC 10). According to the Lambert Beer Law this results in a virtual dilution of your sample by factor 20 (DC 20) or 10 (DC 10). Your sample will be diluted virtually, without any manual dilution step. Virtual dilution saves time and excludes dilution errors and cross contaminations. |

| Monitoring virtual dilution |
The same red-coloured sample was filled in the two different available DiluCell™ types DC 20 (left cell) and DC 10 (right cell), respectively. The automatic virtual dilution can be seen by the weaker red colour within the DC 20 generating a 1/20 dilution. The use of this new disposable cuvette allows the lowering of the sample volume to 100 µl or 200 µl, respectively. The automatic dilution of the sample combined with the added benefit of low sample volume make the DiluCell™ essential in every modern laboratory.
